The 3 Most Valuable things I Learned that School Didn’t Teach
Passion– I find it interesting that grade 1-12 asks all people to fit one model. I never had a class that helped define my passion for what lit me up. What I needed was someone to charge my battery not drain it. My goal with Noah University is to help individuals arrive at their sweet spot as soon as possible. I believe there is a revolution of individuals that have locked dreams, passions, and building their own company or idea in their heart. I believe the world is waiting for those people to tell their stories. The challenge is, no one is showing.
How to be your own Brand– We live in a culture that advertises: “Get plugged into the education system…Work on an assembly line…Work for a company for 30 years of your life and retire…Gather all you can and then survive retirement…” They advertise dreams as hobbies. I’m proposing that we shift the paradigm.
What if you graduate high school already building your dream. And, what if the driver for the dream wasn’t money. Most kids get a degree in something they think will make great money but there’s no heart in it because it isn’t their dream. I started my own business while in high school. I wish education bred dreamers and bred vision. What if school was the shaping of your dream becoming reality rather than something kids dread? Now I know why I never fit. The sooner we as humans realize we are uniquely designed with specific gifts and specialties the sooner we can move into our true identity.
How Much Relationships Matter- Whether you want to accept it or not, when you reach adulthood you will come face to face with the reality of the world and the people in it. Especially in the marketplace of career. The most valuable thing I learned is the value of relationships and the art of people. Learning that what matters most is connecting with people, their hearts, and sharing in an experience. There’s way more to life than making something “cool” and “striving after riches”.
I created my ELITE Coaching & Mentoring program as a way to help individuals live their dream and live in the sweet spot of their passion all while making money.
There has never been a better time or better technology than now to get your unique story heard.
How much did school teach you how to be your own boss, business and live your unique dream?
Have a great week! Please share this post and leave a comment below. I’m glad you’re here!

Noah, thank you for writing this blog. I follow your sketches etc on IG vis Katie Kelly andartists like yourself who had the courage to live out your dreams are what keeps me alive. I have yet to find the courage to go back to school for art. I compare myself so much to others and I just wanted to write cause this is exactly what I needed to hear at this moment…exactly. thank you :))

Erin, Thanks for the transparency and words. i want to encourage you: Make art for art sake. Just do it. You tube has so many great videos on art and we can learn so much. I would be very specific on your desire for school. Such as: Am I going for technique? What technique do I want to learn? Why? Once I learn it how will I use it? You have a desire and heart for creativity. Don’t let systems, doubt and fears stand in the way. Tell those voices they aren’t welcome and to take a hike. Invite new friends and voices, “Love, fun, freedom, play and joy.” Make whatever puts a smile on your face. It is when we are digging that we find gold. Glad you’re here!

Traditional education failed us and fails our children. The valuable lessons in life are dismissed in favor of creating sheep. We create workers instead of creators. The ability to create, to dream, to build is trampled on at every turn.
The irony in this is that in the information age, we do not need more workers. Ask people in Michigan who worked for the car manufacturers and found themselves redundant. What we need (and what I believe Noah U will create) are thinkers, creators, people who have dreams of making the world a better place.

Jay, Thanks man. Times definitely have changed in what we need from education. Industrial age is dead. Getting back to the arts is school and seeing kids light up individually based on desire and heart would be amazing. Hoping change can from those willing to “be” the change. Glad your here and appreciate the words.

Love your post and words! I’m doing my doctoral degree on changing the K-12 curriculum to teach to the child not to the standards. Everyone learns differently. Some are academically inclined, some are artistic and everyone needs to be developed to their needs and own potential. No ones needs to be ridiculed because they don’t fit the mold that has been developed by people that haven’t taught in years. Fake not good! Unique is GREAT!

What makes what you are doing (www.noahuniversity.com) different then all the others? (the, I’ll teach you to be the best airbrush artist, for only $$$ or the, you’ve come up with something great, now let us show you how to market it, this 3 day class will teach you everything you need to know for only $$$) in the end these people really don’t care if you succeed “has long as I get my money by next Friday” King Solomon wrote “There is nothing new under the sun” So back to my question What makes you different?

Nick,
I appreciate the comment and honesty. I created http://Www.noahuniversity.com from the desire to fill a need. Having spent 30 years building my company and life as a entrepreneur I had the desire to help others. Noah U isn’t about “how” to paint and learn technique. The mission is to help individuals discover their passion, refine their story/product and then learn a strategy to get it out to the world.
I personally wanted to get into a space where I was living in the sweet spot of my gifts and making revenue from what I “get” to do not what I “have” to do. In short, I wanted to make not just a living off of my passion but also impact others and the world through it. This took a long time to learn but now I’m sharing my playbook with members as to “what” I do and “how”.
I searched for mentorship, instruction and tools that could help myself and others to narrow creativity, learn how to market it with technology and how to reach an audience and followers. I couldn’t find one. That’s why I created Noah U.
Hoping this provides clarity. I have provided all info and even a briefing video on the site. http://Www.noahuniversity.com
Thanks for the comment and thanks for being here!

Great lessons, Noah. Those are 3 critical things we need to learn. Traditional education isn’t generally equipped to teach them, and other sources of instruction, like families, often don’t know how.
I feel like there’s a “next step” component. This may be something you’re doing in Noah U, but I get the sense that there’s also a need for people to not only learn these lessons, but also learn how to intentionally communicate them to those in their circle of influence. What do you think?

Randy, yes. This is exactly why I created Noah U. I couldn’t find a mentorship training program helping individuals focus their craft, platform and audience. There are specific personalities that teach a specialty but rarely a whole strategy. I’m super excited and encouraged to see and hear the fruit of the members. Glad you’re here. Thanks for the support! Keep writing!
