This issue of Momentum highlights
Personal Momentum & Wins
One of my personal discipline mantras: If you aren’t measuring, you’re managing chaos. If you want to increase momentum, it must be tracked and reported.
- Marriage/Family: Chantel and I have had a great time over the last few months. One of the things we are celebrating is the achievement of a majority of our goals and milestones. We are now outlining our next 3, 5, 10, and 20-year goals. One of the goals we had set years ago was the dream to take our kids on an international trip to South Africa to see our ministry partners and kids that we helped rescue that have been orphaned dude to AIDS. It has been a dream come true to see our adult children experience the joy of doing business as a mission, and to realize how what we do at home has a global impact. It's amazing to see your kids experience the results firsthand. Chantel and I had the opportunity to take another trip to explore Scandinavia with friends, seeing parts of the world we had never seen before. One of the most important aspects of these trips is getting out of the normal daily loop and environment to get exposed to new sights, sounds, smells, and tastes. I was especially impacted by Tivoli Gardens in Copenhagen. This is one of the places that inspired Walt Disney's vision for Disneyland. I still think about all the details and the impact it had on me.
- Parenting: We're celebrating wins for our daughter, Griffin, and son, Lil’ Noah. Griffin has created two outstanding pieces of visual storytelling during her film school journey at Biola. Amazing! Noah was recently enrolled in an HVAC Technical School and was hired at a local Chick-fil-A. We are super proud of both their traction and momentum. As a family, we are intentional about Sunday afternoon family meetings to take inventory on the coming weeks, months, and years. Like the work I do with my clients, I tell them that the business of their family is the most important client they have under their leadership.
- Investing in Learning: I can't stress enough the power of continually learning. I have consumed numerous books that sharpen my skills and craft, but most importantly, the discipline to learn is a non-negotiable. Recently, I explained to a guy that these disciplines aren't a religious act; it's the freedom that they provide that places you in a position of readiness for the opportunities God brings your way. Disciplines and structure are not shackles; they lead to freedom.
- Wins in Walking: I had a goal back in 2019, and it was not only to lose the remaining 20 pounds I was aiming for but also to establish a protocol that would keep it off and maintain a body fat percentage of 15%. I am excited to say that it remains to this day. I keep this going by doing three things at once: I walk for an hour to an hour and a half. In that time, I learned by listening to the Bible app and then turned around at the midpoint to listen to books that apply to my craft and skills, continually growing.
- Men's Fellowship: Great year so far, hosting a Men’s Fellowship at the Lodge on our property. Each evening, it gathers all the creative entrepreneurs in Orange County to fellowship and take a deep dive into developing as leaders of their homes and businesses. Most men don’t realize that their business is one of the most important, prime areas to make an impact for the Gospel.
- Generosity Portfolio: Great news from the field of our initiatives with Acres of Love, as we rescue and care for children in South Africa who have been orphaned due to AIDS. We are also helping deploy the Gospel into unreached territories around the globe. I am working with specific entrepreneurs who are missionaries in both local and global areas, doing amazing work in hostile territories. I celebrate today one of my friends with whom I collaborated, who has achieved translating a new language for an unreached, unengaged people group in Africa. I cannot stress enough the joy of seeing a dream from two years ago become a reality.
Noah Fine Art Momentum
- Chick-Fil-A Mural: I recently had the opportunity to partner with a good buddy of mine, who is the operator of the new location in Costa Mesa. Under a tight deadline, we collaborated to create a unique concept that told the story of Costa Mesa and Newport Beach. This was a special project, as it was about a quarter mile from where my studio had been for over 20 years. It is seriously wild to think about. Never would I have imagined back then that I would be doing a mural just down the street for such an amazing corporation and team. Such an honor!!
- Epcot International Festival of the Arts: From January through February, the Noah Fine Art booth was a part of the six-week event at Walt Disney World. I'm currently working on new images in the studio, and I'm excited for you to see the latest releases. Stay tuned on my Instagram and YouTube channels to see the first looks.
- Disneyana Disneyland: Soon after returning from Florida, I held signings at Disneyland Resort inside Disneyana. I wanted to create a piece that truly shares the story of Walt Disney’s dream of imagining what Disneyland could look like from his youth. I created Walt in his backyard riding on a model train through a make-believe setup of items pulled from the kitchen, garage, and backyard. The title of this piece is “A Boy and His Dream.” I am excited to report that this original sold for the largest amount and largest piece to date. I am super grateful to also celebrate this year, marking over 20 years of creating magic with Disney. It is such an incredible honor. I want to personally thank each and every one of you because without your partnership, I wouldn't be able to do the work and create the things I get to make each day. THANK YOU! We have some special events and releases in the works that are going to be epic, so be sure to stay tuned!
- “Exhale” Family Edition and “Weary and Worn” Special Release: Our publishing company and team have curated a truly remarkable release. I will be releasing 15 mixed-media hand-embellished originals of each of these images. This edition is designed for collectors who would like to own a specific number in the edition. Each hand-painted original will be available on a first-come, serve basis. If your favorite number is “2”, then you will be able to select that number. I will personally dedicate and sketch on the back of each piece. All pieces include framing and shipping. Keep an eye out for the email announcement!
